Congratulations
to all graduands on completing your studies at all levels as we celebrate the
46th graduation ceremony at Daystar University.
It
is with great pride that I bid goodbye to the class of 2023 as they take a leap
of faith into a new phase of life with the goal of achieving exploits. Today
marks a significant milestone in your lives - a culmination of years of
dedication, hard work, and perseverance, equipped with knowledge and skills to
achieve exploits. Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV) states,’ He has made everything
beautiful in its time.’ He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one
can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Your time has come, and the
beauty of your accomplishments shines brightly today.
Amid
hard economic, political, and even social times, challenges
may
blur our vision of the bright future that awaits us. I believe that the faculty
and staff have held your hands and supported you. They have taken the time to
assure you that you are bearers of light. If you are the light, it sturdily
shows that you can overcome all the challenges you may encounter after
graduation.
Our
theme - Legacy of light: Woven in purpose echoes Ephesians 2:10, which speaks
of us thus: For we are as God’s handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good
works which God prepared for us in advance. God’s sophisticated plan embedded
in your life uniquely aligns with your life’s purpose. You are a masterpiece
with a unique journey. Consider and appreciate the value of a great heroine,
Mrs. Faye Smith. She was the Co-founder of this great institution, and her life
was proof of God’s intricate plan. She embraced her purpose as a
legacy
of light and actively wove in Daystar into purpose. Her great dedication and
commitment to servant leadership and value addition to the institution cannot
go unnoticed. An idea that was actualized, and it has added so much value
through a Christ- centred education. Her story and strength over the years
should enlighten us to persistently push toward our God-given abilities despite
the valleys and mountains we may face. We should actively strive to make
ourselves better individuals in society.
In
view of all this, let us individually and corporately work towards shining our
lights towards a purpose-driven future. May your journey beyond this day be
filled with purpose, fulfilment, and continued success.
Once
again, congratulations on finishing strong.
